Behavioural optometry is preventative, developmental and rehabilitative vision care.
It takes a holistic view of visual performance and visual problems.
This service involves the diagnosis and treatment of functional and perceptual vision disorders in both adults and children of all ages.
A variety of treatment methods are used, such as stress-relieving lenses, therapeutic lenses, vision therapy and advice on reducing visual stress and taking better care of your vision.
Paediatric Eye Care
Vedelago Optometrists have a special passion for treating visual problems in children. Conditions such as lazy eye (amblyopia), turned eyes and paediatric eye disease are best detected at a very early age.
We offer children with learning-related vision problems tailored vision therapy programs and Visual Information Processing assessments to help each and every child reach their full potential. Further assessment can be recommended where necessary, by referral to other allied health professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists and kinesiologists etc. depending on the needs of the child.

Since early detection is essential to reduce the risk to sight and health, Optos retinal imaging equipment can prevent serious eye problems from developing.

The corneal reshaping contact lenses, also known as Ortho-k contact lenses, are both safe and non-invasive, and can correct refractive errors in your eyes.

Computerised Humphrey Visual Field Analyser - measurement of the visual field. This is used to identify and monitor progression of defects and assess the integrity of the vision pathway from the eyes to the brain.
Optos Optomap Ultra Wide Retinal Scanner - examination and mapping of the retina to provide detailed clinical information for early detection, management and treatment of eye diseases and disorders.
Corneal Topographer - measures the front curvature of the cornea. This is useful for contact lens fitting and monitoring of the various corneal conditions.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Scan - this allows detailed visualisation of cross sections of internal eye structures. This is useful in monitoring conditions like macular degeneration, naevus (pigmented lesions), diabetic eye disease, etc.
Blephasteam for Dry Eye Treatment- an in-office device used in the treatment of various eye lid and dry eye conditions. It provides warm, moist heat therapy to the eyelids thus improving tear flow and tear quality.
